Dave Creek's Traveling Treehouses Announces First Children's Hospital to Host Treehouse Exhibit
PASADENA, Calif. - August 25, 2023 - Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses, a nonprofit organization established in memory of the late artist Dave Creek, is pleased to announce its mission of bringing David's magical treehouse collection to children's hospitals, as he had intended. We are thrilled to partner with Shriners Children's Southern California in Pasadena, which will be the first children's medical center to host the exhibit.
Featuring the extraordinary collection of Dave Creek's magical treehouses, the exhibit will be showcased at Shriners Children’s starting in August 2023. The exhibition will be housed at the medical center outside the surgical wing, allowing young patients and their families to enjoy the whimsical artwork during their time at the hospital. The exhibit will be displayed for a duration of six months.
Dave Creek was not only known for his incredible bonsai treehouse creations but also as the lead character designer for the Emmy Award-winning animated series, Bob's Burgers. Over the course of 17 years, Dave dedicated himself to crafting the intricate and magical treehouses, which will now bring joy and wonder to children in hospitals.
Shriners Children's Southern California, renowned for its exceptional care and commitment to pediatric patients, is a wonderful partner for this initiative. The hospital's dedication to improving the lives of children aligns perfectly with the mission of Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses, making it an ideal location to launch this unique exhibit.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Shriners Children's to bring Dave Creek's magical treehouse collection to life," said Aleasha Ramsay, spokesperson for Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses. "We believe that art has the power to heal and provide solace, and we hope that through this exhibit, we can bring a touch of wonder and joy to the brave children facing challenging times."
The exhibit at Shriners Children’s will feature the entire collection of Dave Creek's enchanting treehouses, each meticulously created to transport children into a world of imagination and adventure. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the intricate details of the artwork, discovering hidden treasures and whimsical characters within each treehouse.
Dave Creek’s Traveling Treehouses is actively seeking partnerships and sponsorships to expand the exhibition to other children's hospitals across California by joining forces with like-minded organizations, we can continue to honor Dave Creek's legacy and brighten the lives of pediatric patients.
